A super simple, 4-ingredient appetizer, lunch or dinner that comes together in minutes! Easily customize to your tastes. Perfect cold for a picnic lunch or cook them on the grill or in the oven for the perfect easy meal!
I know there are people out there who don’t like “Hawaiian” things. There are people who don’t like pineapple on savory things.
I, friends, am not one of them. I love to mix sweet and savory.
How about you? Yay or nay to the savory pineapple dishes?
I’m going to just assume we’re on the same page. Because, well, you’re here and all.
I saw these ham and pineapple kebabs when I was skimming through Pinterest one day, and I kind of got them stuck in my mind. Now that I look, there are about a thousand recipes for ham and pineapple skewers/kebabs/kabobs. Not that you need a recipe, ’cause you don’t.
Maybe though you just need a little inspiration. This is one of those “recipes” that really doesn’t have a lot of rules. I’m into recipes like that.
Don’t like peppers? Leave them off. Don’t like pineapple? Leave them off. It’ll kind of just be a ham kebab at that point, but by all means, if that’s what you’re into, have at it.
You don’t even have to brush them with barbecue sauce if you don’t want to, but like pineapple, I like barbecue sauce on pretty much everything. Especially this Pineapple Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce, which is good on pretty much everything.

Another recipe for this is similar, the creator mentioned using fresh pineapple can make the ham mushy if they stay together too long and I have had that experience with the fruit too, in a fruit salad. You should see what it does to chicken! We old ladies were always warned about not adding fresh pineapple to the infamous “Jello Salads” to only used processed, canned pineapple. So as another commenter said, I too always keep canned variations of pineapple on hand, for upside-down cake, sweet and sour pork, etc.

Love how easy these skewers are!! I’m all about quick and easy when it’s hot out and these would be great. My dad loves ham and pineapple, so I need to make these for him soon!

The haters are about mixing ham and pineapple on pizza, yeah, it’s a thing. I am a pizza purist. I don’t have a problem with food fusion, some great meals have been discovered that way. But pizza is sacred to me, no chicken no pineapple. I accept and love “Canadian Bacon” on meat lovers and it is healthier than some other meats.

I love grilled ham and pineapple, such a great combo. I don’t like hawaiian pizza though, I don’t know why! This, though, looks amazing!

Hi Ashley! I always have canned pineapple on hand. And I just happen to have a ham steak in the frig and big, meaty red peppers in the garden! I’m good to go! I love grilled pineapple. These would be great sized down as an appetizer! Another way I use pineapple is to wrap chunks with bacon and either grill them or do the in the oven on a rack set on a foil lined sheet pan (saves clean up). I usually do bacon wrapped dates along with the pineapple. I’m a bacon junkie! 🙂

This would make an awesome appetizer on fancy toothpicks! And tin foil is pretty much my favorite kitchen “tool”, Lol! I line everything with it!
